Kitchen knife recommendation

Hello,

I am looking for a knife set for my boyfriend for
Christmas and I was wondering if you could recommend anything? I do not want to
spend too much, so I would like a decently priced, reliable knife set. He
is attending school to become a chef, so I would like something that will last a
long time. He does know how to sharpen knives and is right
handed. All he needs is the essential knives, so I'm thinking a set of 6
knives. The portable knife bag would be beneficial, but not
necessary. I would like to spend anywhere from $200 - $500. Thank
